Technical SEO FAQ · URL Architecture, Internal Linking & Information Architecture

How do you identify internal-linking opportunities algorithmically?

Create a page-to-page relevance model using:

  • topic/entity similarity;
  • category relationships;
  • breadcrumb relationships;
  • existing anchor text;
  • destination importance;
  • crawl depth;
  • current inbound-link count.

Then generate candidate relationships and have editorial/product teams approve them where needed.

Avoid automatically inserting thousands of low-value links. The system should optimize meaningful relationships, not link volume.
