What Is a Redirect Map?

A redirect map is the complete, documented list matching every old URL to its correct new URL, used to plan and execute a website migration or restructure safely.

A redirect map should be built from real crawl and analytics data, not assumptions — any URL that received traffic, links, or rankings in the last 12–24 months needs a mapped destination.
