What Is Interaction to Next Paint (INP)?

Interaction to Next Paint is a Core Web Vital that measures the latency of every user interaction on a page, and it officially replaced First Input Delay in March 2024.

Unlike its predecessor, INP scores the worst interaction across an entire page visit, not just the first one — making heavy client-side JavaScript a much bigger liability.
