What Is Crawling in SEO?
Crawling is the process by which a search engine discovers and downloads web pages by following links, sitemaps, and other URL signals across the web.
Crawling is the first of three stages a page goes through before it can rank — crawling, rendering, and indexing. A page that isn't crawled can't be evaluated at all, regardless of its content quality.
