What Is a ccTLD?
A ccTLD is a country-code top-level domain, such as .de for Germany or .jp for Japan, that gives search engines a strong signal a site targets one specific country.
ccTLDs are the strongest geotargeting signal available but come with a tradeoff — they split domain authority across country versions instead of consolidating it on one domain.
