# What percentage of an SEO roadmap should be dedicated to technical SEO?

> There is no universal percentage.

The correct allocation depends on technical debt, website size, architecture, business model, migration activity, content maturity and development capacity.

A mature editorial site with stable architecture may require relatively little ongoing technical remediation. A large marketplace with millions of dynamic URLs may need continuous technical governance.

A better management question is:

What technical constraints are currently limiting organic growth?

The roadmap should then allocate resources to those constraints.
