# How do you prioritize technical SEO issues when there are hundreds of problems?

> Prioritize by search impact, business importance, scale, confidence and implementation effort, rather than by the number of warnings in a crawler.

A practical model is:

**Priority ≈ Impact × Scale × Confidence ÷ Effort**

For example, a canonical problem affecting 100,000 important product URLs is materially different from a missing meta description on 100 low-value pages.

Ask:

- Are important URLs affected?

- Is Google actually encountering the problem?

- Does it affect discovery, rendering, indexation or consolidation?

- How many URLs are affected?

- What is the business value of those URLs?

- Can the fix introduce migration or indexing risk?

Google's technical requirements are relatively small; passing them does not guarantee crawling, indexing or ranking. This is why an audit report should not be treated as a priority list automatically.
